Ferro developed a love for music from an early age, before studying at a conservatory, taking piano and guitar classes as we'll as developing his vocal talents. A love for African American music forms developed after joining a gospel choir at 16. Soon after, he began working with producers Alberto Salerno and Mara Maionichi, recording a collection of songs.
Having impressed with his early material, Ferro signed to EMI Italy in 2001, to release his debut album, "Rosso Relativo," which was a breakout success through the single "Xdono." Success continued for Ferro with his second release, "111," which brought him huge fame, selling over a million copies. From there, Ferro couldn't stop making hit albums, achieving several Platinum selling records as well as winning a whole host of awards.
Besides forging a highly successful career in pop, Ferro has also utilized his songwriting skills for other artists, lending his talents to songs for Michael Bolton and Blue, amongst others. Ferro has also recorded songs in Spanish, French, Portuguese, German and English, helping to expand his fan base. His popularity in Italy has been unfaltering, achieving three successive number one albums there with 2006's "Nessuno è Solo," "Alla Mia Età" in 2008 and 2011's "L'Amore È una Cosa Semplice."
Battling his own personal issues with eating disorders, as well as coming out as gay in 2010, Ferro has become a positive role model for those also struggling with these personal matters, which he documented in his autobiography, "Tren'anni e una Chiacchierata con papà" in 2010. In 2013, Ferro displayed his production talents, working on songs for Italian female Rapper, Baby K's debut album in 2013. The album was a success and was certified Platinum. Ferro's greatest hits album, "TZN - The Best of Tiziano Ferro," appeared in October 2014.
Tiziano Ferro is now one of my favorite singer-songwriter in Italian music. I was on a holiday in Italy when one of my friends told me to go see him when I trying to find the perfect night out for me and my girlfriend. She and I were totally sold as soon as he started to sing. The whole audience knew his songs and everybody was singing along. He reminded me a little of Pavarotti, but maybe just because of the language. Everybody was shining with little lights and the atmosphere was just in one word amazing! I took my girlfriend with me and it was a very romantic setting. I love Italian music but this artist just has it all, the looks, the personality and of course his voice. The whole place was packed and if he would come to the United States I would definitely come and see him again. I have played the song Sere Nere a million times by now.
