Born as Alejandro Fernandez Abarca on 24 April 1971 as the son of Ranchera singer Vicente Fernandez. His first public appearance was with his father at the very early age of five and despite it ending in a panic attack, he released his debut album “Alejandro Fernandez at the age of 21. He then set out on tour around Mexico as well as a few cities in the United States, and in 1994 he released his second album entitled “Grandes Exitos A La Manera De Alejandro Fernandez.”
In 1996 he released his third studio album, “Muy Dentro de Mi Corazon,” which became an instant success. The album was a fusion of bolero, romantic ballad, a touch of mariachi and orchestral arrangements. After the release of two more successful albums, he played the lead role in the film “Zapata: El Sueno Del Heroe” in 2004. From 2007 to 2013 he recorded and released three more studio albums, all of which reached success; the second of which, was released as a special simultaneous release entitled “Dos Mundos Evolucion” and “Dos Mundos Tradicion.” In conjunction with these two albums, he released “Dos Mundos Revolucion” which was a live performance recording of the songs.
Alejandro Fernando is electrifying during his entire performance. His nickname is "El Potrillo" also known as "The Colt," thanks to the media and all of his fans.
He typically sings Mexican folk, but has previously dabbled into pop music. His fans would all agree that he has done a superb job in doing so. With a huge stage that includes dancers, fantastic lighting and stairs, Alejandro is able to move about the stage and captivate the entire arena. With his rich and passionate voice, anyone is sure to love all that Alejandro has to offer. Alejandro takes center stage as his band is spread out in the background. Once the beat picks up, the lights flash and dance to the beat of the music and Alejandro dances in order to entertain the audience.
In 2011, he released the song "Bajo un mismo sol" which ended up being the theme for the 2011 Pan American Games. He was also able to tour Latin America along with Marc Anthony. Their concert tour name was Dos Mundos, un Concierto, or Two Worlds, One Concert. His beautiful Mexican voice is perfect for any night out.
