Crowned Detroit’s Queen of the Blues by the Detroit Blues Society in 2015 - with official proclamations from the City of Detroit and the State of Michigan - Thornetta Davis is an internationally acclaimed singer, songwriter and independent recording artist whose commanding voice bridges blues, soul and gospel with effortless authority.

As a 10 x BLUES Foundation Blues Music Award nominee, and 2x winner of the 2025 and 2023 Blues Music Award for Best Female Soul/Blues Artist, her powerful vocals and soulful storytelling have earned her worldwide recognition.

In addition to her numerous accolades, Thornetta has been honoured with the Jus’ Blues Foundation’s Denise LaSalle Recording of Excellence Award and a star on the Canada South Blues Museum Walk of Fame. Her song “I Believe Everything is Gonna Be Alright” won first place in the 2017 International Songwriting Competition, and "Honest Woman" received the French La Académie du Jazz Award for Best Blues Album. Thornetta continues to captivate audiences with her deep, soulful sound, keeping the spirit of the blues alive.
