Set in the pretty church in the South Devon village of Kingskerswell, Martyn's performance once again touched hearts and humour in equal measure. Stripped back to just him and his gee-tar Martyn bared his soul to his audience, revealing once again his passion for humanity and human rights. I've seen him many times and I now accept and understand his slant - was never one for politics in concerts, really. He played a beautifully balanced set of original, moving songs from the heart, always self deprecating, always well judged. Three hours passed quickly and the audience left happy with their thoughts and enjoyment of a serious evening that was also a great singalong. Martyn's impassioned performances from the altar and pews wowed all there assembled. And as for his hug for the special young woman at the front... Great, great, great.
