We got the St Patrick's celebrations in early last night! It was a great night of Irish musical talent and story telling.
Tony Boyce kicked the night off with a set which included some old favourites sung with confidence plus his unique take on Alan Jackson's "The One You're Waiting On".
Tommy McArdle, who played the very first TOTHAS nearly 6 years ago, made a welcome return. Tommy's set included some new material, the highlight of which was "Poison In The Water", which will hopefully be included in the songs he is starting to record currently.
Megan Collins made a very confident and bright debut. She played a mixture of covers and her own material. Her "Little Red Scribble" (hope I have that right!) was the highlight for me.
J Eoin really captivated the audience, not just with his songs, but with the stories they were steeped in. "Sky Anvils" were and his double cappo trick a highlight for me.
Rob Corcoran & The Necessary Evils rounded off the evening with an accomplished set of songs based around his "The Heart, The Head & The Long Silence" EP. An inspired "China Girl" kept the Bowie covers coming at TOTHAS but "Downtime Man" was my particular favourite.
Maria marshalled the door superbly during a busy evening and the bar staff made sure we had all the gear we needed...
