Harpist and vocalist Tara Minton is joined by double bassist and long-time collaborator, Ed Babar, in an intimate duo concert. The pair present original compositions from Tara’s acclaimed 2020 album Please Do Not Ignore The Mermaid and her upcoming release, The Devil Invites You To Dance, alongside jazz standards and popular music from classic films.
Tara Minton is an Australian-born harpist, vocalist and composer. Proudly endorsed by Les Harpes Camac, she holds a Master’s degree in jazz performance from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Sought after as both a harpist and vocalist, Tara has worked with Björk, Tom Walker, ESKA, Stan Sulzmann, Geoff Gascoyne, Emma Rawicz, Alice Zawadski, The Ronnie Scott’s All Stars, Opera North, The Royal Ballet and the Australian World Orchestra.
Ed Babar holds a Master’s degree in Music and Education from Trinity Laban College of Music and Dance and leads ‘The Blues and Roots Ensemble’ – a music education charity promoting improvisation and social change through the music of Charles Mingus, Abdullah Ibrahim and Dorothy Ashby.
Tara and Ed released Two For The Road – a duo album of jazz standards in 2022.
This May, we’re taking the music on tour. In collaboration with the neighbourhood’s most celebrated addresses – including The Cadogan, the iconic luxury hotel at the crossroads of Chelsea, Belgravia and Knightsbridge.
