Talent clearly runs in the Torres family. Diego Torres has successfully followed in his mother’s footsteps, Lolita Torres, to carve himself a successful acting, and singing career. To be honest, though, successful is a little bit of an understatement; several of his albums have gone platinum within his native Argentina; he has achieved wide success outside of his home country; and he has toured extensively, and successfully, throughout Latin America, the United States and Spain.
One of Diego’s most popular and beautiful songs is “Color Esperanza,” which he often plays with the simple accompaniment of an acoustic guitar. The lyrics to this song are so touching, and Diego’s voice so perfect in bringing out its beauty that to drown it in too many other accompanying sounds would do it a disservice.
Diego Torres’s brand of pop is influenced by other Latin styles such as rumba and Flamenco, creating a three dimensional composition, which I expect will stand the test of time. Attend one of his concerts and you’ll be uplifted by the love that Diego puts out to his audiences. He has a way of connecting with a crowd that feels so personal it is as if he were singing hits such as “Sueños” and “Guapa” just to you. A Diego Torres concert is a pretty romantic experience, and one I hope to relive at some point soon.
