Tim Bettinson is a singer songwriter from Australia who isn’t even twenty years old yet but has developed a fantastically loyal fan base over the years with his ambient folk music entitled “Vancouver Sleep Clinic”, which is laden with some beautiful contrapuntal melodies. He is all about his signature falsetto that with reverb and delay will fill a room.
He performs some of his most well known songs tonight in the form of songs such as “Collapse” which is quite an anthemic spacious and downtempo track complete with a very catchy chorus. He is accompanied by two keyboard players along with a drummer playing a half electric and acoustic kit, which makes all the right sounds that this genre needs. Bettinson plays an electric guitar that is being put through a very crystal clear clean sounding amp, with delay and chorus occasionally accompanying it.
The audience are pretty stationary, just taking everything in their stride enjoying this ambient genre that is Vancouver Sleep Clinic. He finishes with “Vapour”.
