Tantric, managed to gain exposure as a band in their home town before catching the attention of the major label, Maverick Records in 2000 who would go on to sign them. Through the label they would go on to record the debut, which was an eponymous album released on February 13th 2001. The album was a slow climber in the charts, but eventually made it to number 71 in the Billboard 200. It was eventually certified Platinum. They embarked on many tours following the success of the album, including tours with 3 Doors Down, Lifehouse and then Kid Rock and Creed.
Their following album released on February 24th 2004 through Maverick records made it to number 56 in the Billboard 200, despite following a lot of pressure from the record label to produce a single. Unfortunately, Tantric’s following album, despite being recorded in it’s entirety, was officially unreleased. There were three songs that were released on the band’s MySpace page, but were lost in the Todd Whitener’s departure from the band. Over the course of the following years, various songs from the album were released over time.
Hugo Ferreira continued with Tantric, and began to look for new band mates and eventually succeeded in rebuilding what once was, entering the studio to finally released their third album “The End Begins” on April 22nd 2008. The debut single “Down and Out” managed to land the band airplay, boasting the band’s evolved sound. The album reached number 91 on the Billboard 200 and number 15 on the Independent Charts.
Following the release of the albums, unfortunately, Hugo Ferreira by this point the only remaining member of the band, and with yet another line up, released the album “37 Channels” on September 17th 2013, which went to number 24 in the Billboard Hard Rock Albums.
