Marty spends all his time in Japan, rarely coming stateside to perform so my songkick alert to him being in the area excited me. Speed metal lives and Marty, with his self-proclaimed "bad ass band" delivered the goods Saturday night in Philidelphia. The show featured songs from across the solo library from the first album to the latest one. The North Star Bar is a tight, in your face venue with the ability to feel close even if you're in the back. The band was tight and particularly animated starting out in a frenzy of metal fretwork and burning supernova hot for almost two hours. No question that Marty still has the chops that earned his reputation as one of speed metal's founders. Certainly was a treat to see and hear this band.
