SAFIA first began transporting listeners to new worlds in 2013 with their breakout single, “Listen to Soul, Listen to Blues.” The band followed it up with a series of similarly successful singles including "Counting Sheep" (which has now amassed over 700M streams in China) before releasing 2016 debut album, ‘Internal’ to rave reviews. The record landed at #2 ARIA chart, earned sold out international headline tours as well as arena dates with Twenty One Pilots, and grew the band into a live, radio and streaming juggernaut (with some 270 million audio streams to date).
A Lover’s Guide To A Lucid Dream, the third album from Canberra trio SAFIA - Ben Woolner (Vocals/Keys), Michael Bell (Drums) and Harry Sayers (Guitar/Keys) – was described by the band as a process of learning to let go. Letting gut feelings take over, this body of work grew to be about allowing the sprawling compositions to take their own form and become what they wanted to be. A live version of the album was released in 2024, titled 'Live At First Light'.
Their sophomore album 'Story's Start or End' was released in 2019, with euphoric single 'Starlight' achieving Gold certification in AUS and #15 most added at US Radio (NACC). This was followed by a sold-out AUS theatre tour and blistering festival appearances at Splendour, Wildlands, Concrete & Grass (China) and Primavera (Spain) to name a few. They’ve also sold out multiple Australian theatre-sized tours, as well as club shows across UK, Europe, US and NZ.
SAFIA!! These guys never disappoint. Ben is an absolute legend. He's theatrical, intense and fully in the zone from start to finish. His voice is angelic and the band always gets the audience bouncing, quite literally. One of my favorite bands to see live, to dance to and to introduce to friends. I adore these guys and they have many years of producing incredible music ahead of them. Awesome, awesome, awesome. Go see them and support these young, Aussie rockstars. They're the real deal. (And I'm a music geek.)
