Roy Thomson Hall Roy Thomson Hall, opened in the fall of 1982, is part of Toronto’s proud legacy from acclaimed architect, Arthur Erickson. Nestled gem-like amid the heart of the city’s downtown entertainment core, it continues to be of vital artistic influence. Since 1982, it has played host to thousands of world-renowned artists and orchestras, celebrated hundreds of landmark anniversaries, luminaries, galas, festivals, and important business and community occasions.
